(Cincinnati, OH) November 18th, 2016 – RoundTower announced that Senior Systems Engineer, Paul Cradduck, successfully defended his VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) title to become #244 in the elite VCDX Directory. This brings the total number of VCDX certifications at RoundTower to six.
Mr. Cradduck began tinkering with computers when he was just 12 years old and he was instantly hooked. Since then, he has developed very keen analytical skills for data center systems and attained numerous certifications around virtualization, beginning with VMware Certified Professional, in May of 2012.
Preparation for Paul’s recent achievement began in early 2016 when RoundTower Technical Lead, Tony Gonzalez and VMware PSC, Alex Correa approached him to help with a design. Over the course of months, they spent 400 hours on evenings and weekends to complete and submit the more than 300-page design. They received word in July that their work had been accepted and they were invited to present a defense.
“It was definitely one of the most difficult accomplishments of my life,” says Paul Cradduck. “You spend 70 minutes fielding questions to defend your design. After a 10-minute break, you spend another 45 minutes designing on-the-fly, based on scenarios from the panel, while they play the role of customers. The VMware community is very tight knit and I would never have succeeded without their support.”
This is one of many certifications in the RoundTower community. Only one month ago, the leading systems integrator announced that it had completed all of the VMware competency matrix, making it one of only two partners in the US that have attained this status. RoundTower is known for their focus on technical competency and this rounds out the more than 1500 certifications presently held by their staff.
Paul received word on November 15th that he had earned his VDCX title. He plans to use his expertise to benefit RoundTower clients, mentor other aspiring engineers and further his knowledge in virtualization and other emerging IT technologies.
